Foster Application
Foster homes provide shelter and a stable home environment for dogs that were scheduled for euthanasia at local shelters. Many dogs were owner surrenders and are well behaved and quickly become loved members of their foster families and only need a temporary foster home for a few days or weeks. Others are frightened, neglected, abused or medically needy. These special cases require more time, training and commitment from a loving volunteer to teach them how to love and how to live in a loving family. There is work and commitment involved but the reward is great.
Foster families are responsible for providing love, food and shelter to their foster dog. Additional responsibilities include taking the dog to scheduled vet appointments and taking the dog to at least 1 adoption event per month and making additional networking efforts such as posting ads for the dog. Love At First Bark Animal Rescue can help you post AD's and Network the animals for you as well. Many dogs are adopted within 2-3 events, others will take longer. The rescue pays the vet bills for the dog as long as you take the dog to one of our veterinarians and get approval for the visit. We have food and supplies donated and share them with foster homes as they are available. We ask that fosters commit to their dog for the duration of the time they are in rescue, this could be days or months in some situations.
Once you fill out the Foster Application Form, we will be able to match you with a foster dog/puppy that is a good fit for your home and lifestyle. We provide everything for our foster homes: food, toys, medicine and a crate (if needed). You provide the LOVE. Thank you for helping us with the greatest of rescue needs.

Foster parents are encouraged to maintain an 'aunt' or 'uncle' relationship with the dog in their care; but it does occasionally happen that the foster parent and dog bond so completely that adoption into this home is best for the dog and family, which we would be happy to work with.
Do you understand that if you wish to adopt your foster dog, you must complete the adoption papers and pay the fee(s) listed on the adoption description and application pages?
